1	그때에 대언자들 곧 대언자 학개와 잇도의 아들 스가랴가 이스라엘의 [하나님]의 이름으로 유다와 예루살렘에 있던 유대인들에게 곧 그들에게 대언하였더니	0
	Then the prophet Haggai and Zechariah the son of Iddo, prophets, prophesied to the Jews who were in Judah and Jerusalem, in the name of the God of Israel, who was over them.
	선지자들 곧 선지자 학개와 잇도의 손자 스가랴가 이스라엘 하나님의 이름을 받들어 유다와 예루살렘에 거하는 유다 사람들에게 예언하였더니
2	이에 스알디엘의 아들 스룹바벨과 요사닥의 아들 예수아가 일어나 예루살렘에 있는 [하나님]의 집을 건축하기 시작하매 [하나님]의 대언자들이 그들과 함께하여 그들을 도왔더라.	0
	So Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel and Jeshua the son of Jozadak rose up and began to build the house of God which is in Jerusalem; and the prophets of God were with them, helping them.
	이에 스알디엘의 아들 스룹바벨과 요사닥의 아들 예수아가 일어나 예루살렘 하나님의 전 건축하기를 시작하매 하나님의 선지자들이 함께 하여 돕더니
3	¶ 바로 그때에 강 이편의 총독 닷드내와 스달보스내와 그들의 동료들이 나아와 그들에게 이같이 이르되, 누가 너희에게 명령하여 이 집을 건축하고 이 성벽을 보수하게 하였느냐? 하기에	0
	At the same time Tattenai the governor of the region beyond the River and Shethar-Boznai and their companions came to them and spoke thus to them: "Who has commanded you to build this temple and finish this wall?"
	그 때에 강 서편 총독 닷드내와 스달보스내와 그 동료가 다 나아와 저희에게 이르되 누가 너희를 명하여 이 전을 건축하고 이 성곽을 마치게 하였느냐 하기로
4	그때에 우리가 이런 식으로 그들에게 이르기를, 이 건물을 짓는 자들의 이름이 무엇이냐? 하니라.	0
	Then, accordingly, we told them the names of the men who were constructing this building.
	우리가 이 건축하는 자의 이름을 고하였으나
5	그러나 그들의 [하나님]의 눈이 유대인들의 장로들 위에 있으므로 그 일이 다리오에게 이를 때까지 저들이 그들로 하여금 일을 중단하지 못하게 하였고 그때에 그들이 이 일에 관하여 편지로 답을 보내었더라.	0
	But the eye of their God was upon the elders of the Jews, so that they could not make them cease till a report could go to Darius. Then a written answer was returned concerning this matter.
	하나님이 유다 장로들을 돌아보셨으므로 저희가 능히 역사를 폐하게 못하고 이 일을 다리오에게 고하고 그 답조가 오기를 기다렸더라
6	¶ 강 이편 총독 닷드내와 스달보스내와 그의 동료들 곧 강 이편에 있던 아바삭 사람들이 다리오 왕에게 보낸 편지의 사본이 이러하니라.	0
	This is a copy of the letter that Tattenai sent: The governor of the region beyond the River, and Shethar-Boznai, and his companions, the Persians who were in the region beyond the River, to Darius the king.
	강 서편 총독 닷드내와 스달보스내와 그 동료 강 서편 아바삭 사람이 다리오 왕에게 올린 글의 초본이 이러하니라
7	그들이 그에게 편지를 보내며 그 안에 이같이 기록하기를, 다리오 왕께 문안하오니 다 평안하옵소서.	0
	They sent a letter to him, in which was written thus--To Darius the king: All peace.
	그 글에 일렀으되 다리오 왕은 만안하옵소서
8	왕께 이것을 알리옵나이다. 곧 우리가 유대 지방에 가서 위대하신 [하나님]의 집에 이르렀는데 그들이 큰 돌로 그 집을 세우고 벽에 나무를 놓아 이 일이 신속히 이루어지며 그들의 손에서 형통하기에	0
	Let it be known to the king that we went into the province of Judea, to the temple of the great God, which is being built with heavy stones, and timber is being laid in the walls; and this work goes on diligently and prospers in their hands.
	왕께 아시게 하나이다 우리가 유다 도에 가서 지극히 크신 하나님의 전에 나아가 보온즉 전을 큰 돌로 세우며 벽에 나무를 얹고 부지런히 하므로 역사가 그 손에서 형통하옵기로
9	그때에 우리가 그 장로들에게 물으며 그들에게 이같이 이르기를, 누가 너희에게 명령하여 이 집을 건축하고 이 성벽을 보수하게 하였느냐? 하고	0
	Then we asked those elders, and spoke thus to them: "Who commanded you to build this temple and to finish these walls?"
	우리가 그 장로들에게 물어보기를 누가 너희를 명하여 이 전을 건축하고 이 성곽을 마치게 하였느냐 하고
10	우리가 그들의 우두머리 되는 자들의 이름을 적어 왕에게 알리려고 또한 그들의 이름을 물은즉	0
	We also asked them their names to inform you, that we might write the names of the men who were chief among them.
	우리가 또 그 두목의 이름을 적어 왕에게 고하고자 하여 그 이름을 물은즉
11	그들이 우리에게 이같이 회답하여 이르기를, 우리는 하늘과 땅의 [하나님]의 종으로서 이렇게 여러 해 전에 건축되었던 집을 건축하노라. 이 집은 이스라엘의 위대한 왕이 건축하여 세웠으나	0
	And thus they returned us an answer, saying: "We are the servants of the God of heaven and earth, and we are rebuilding the temple that was built many years ago, which a great king of Israel built and completed.
	저희가 우리에게 대답하여 이르기를 우리는 천지의 하나님의 종이라 오랜 옛적에 건축되었던 전을 우리가 다시 건축하노라 이는 본래 이스라엘의 큰 왕이 완전히 건축한 것이더니
12	우리 조상들이 하늘의 [하나님]의 진노를 일으켰으므로 그분께서 그들을 갈대아 사람 바빌론 왕 느부갓네살의 손에 넘겨주시매 그가 이 집을 헐고 백성을 사로잡아 바빌론으로 데려갔느니라.	0
	"But because our fathers provoked the God of heaven to wrath, He gave them into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, the Chaldean, who destroyed this temple and carried the people away to Babylon.
	우리 열조가 하늘에 계신 하나님을 격노케 하였으므로 하나님이 저희를 갈대아 사람 바벨론 왕 느부갓네살의 손에 붙이시매 저가 이 전을 헐며 이 백성을 사로잡아 바벨론으로 옮겼더니
13	그러나 바빌론 왕 고레스의 제일년에 바로 그 고레스 왕이 칙령을 내려 [하나님]의 이 집을 건축하게 하고	0
	"However, in the first year of Cyrus king of Babylon, King Cyrus issued a decree to build this house of God.
	바벨론 왕 고레스 원년에 고레스 왕이 조서를 내려 하나님의 이 전을 건축하게 하고
14	또 느부갓네살이 예루살렘에 있던 그 성전에서 취한 [하나님]의 집의 금 기구와 은 기구들 곧 그가 바빌론의 전에 가져다 둔 그것들을 고레스 왕이 바빌론의 전에서 취하여 자기가 세운 총독 즉 세스바살이라는 이름을 가진 자에게 건네주고	0
	"Also, the gold and silver articles of the house of God, which Nebuchadnezzar had taken from the temple that was in Jerusalem and carried into the temple of Babylon--those King Cyrus took from the temple of Babylon, and they were given to one named Sheshbazzar, whom he had made governor.
	또 느부갓네살의 예루살렘 하나님의 전 속에서 금, 은 기명을 옮겨다가 바벨론 신당에 두었던 것을 고레스 왕이 그 신당에서 취하여 그 세운 총독 세스바살이라 이름한 자에게 내어주고
15	그에게 이르되, 이 기구들을 가지고 가서 예루살렘에 있는 성전에 그것들을 두고 [하나님]의 집을 그것의 처소에 건축하라, 하매	0
	"And he said to him, 'Take these articles; go, carry them to the temple site that is in Jerusalem, and let the house of God be rebuilt on its former site.'
	일러 가로되 너는 이 기명들을 가지고 가서 예루살렘 전에 두고 하나님의 전을 그 본처에 건축하라 하매
16	이에 바로 그 세스바살이 와서 예루살렘에 있는 [하나님]의 집의 기초를 놓았고 그때로부터 지금까지 그 집을 건축하여 왔으나 아직도 그것을 완성하지 못하였다, 하였사오니	0
	"Then the same Sheshbazzar came and laid the foundation of the house of God which is in Jerusalem; but from that time even until now it has been under construction, and it is not finished."
	이에 이 세스바살이 이르러 예루살렘 하나님의 전 지대를 놓았고 그 때로부터 지금까지 건축하여 오나 오히려 필역하지 못하였다 하였사오니
17	그러므로 이제 왕께서 좋게 여기시거든 거기 바빌론에 있는 왕의 보고를 찾아보사 고레스 왕이 칙령을 내려 [하나님]의 이 집을 예루살렘에 건축하라고 하신 일이 과연 그러한지 보시고 왕께서는 이 일에 관하여 왕께서 기뻐하시는 바를 우리에게 보내소서, 하였더라.	0
	Now therefore, if it seems good to the king, let a search be made in the king's treasure house, which is there in Babylon, whether it is so that a decree was issued by King Cyrus to build this house of God at Jerusalem, and let the king send us his pleasure concerning this matter.
	이제 왕이 선히 여기시거든 바벨론에서 왕의 국고에 조사하사 과연 고레스 왕이 조서를 내려 하나님의 이 전을 예루살렘에 건축하라 하셨는지 보시고 왕은 이 일에 대하여 왕의 기쁘신 뜻을 우리에게 보이소서 하였더라
