요르단 서쪽에 있던 아모리 족속의 모든 왕과 바닷가의 가나안 족속의 모든 왕이 우리가 건널 때까지 {주}께서 이스라엘 자손 앞에서 요르단의 물들을 마르게 하신 것을 들었을 때에 그들의 마음이 녹았고 이스라엘 자손으로 인하여 그들에게 더 이상 정신이 없었더라.

So it was, when all the kings of the Amorites who were on the west side of the Jordan, and all the kings of the Canaanites who were by the sea, heard that the LORD had dried up the waters of the Jordan from before the children of Israel until we had crossed over, that their heart melted; and there was no spirit in them any longer because of the children of Israel.

|
요단 서편의 아모리 사람의 모든 왕과 해변의 가나안 사람의 모든 왕이 여호와께서 요단 물을 이스라엘 자손들 앞에서 말리시고 우리를 건네셨음을 듣고 마음이 녹았고 이스라엘 자손들의 연고로 정신을 잃었더라

¶ 그때에 {주}께서 여호수아에게 이르시되, 너는 예리한 칼을 만들어 다시 이스라엘 자손에게 두 번째 할례를 행하라, 하시매

At that time the LORD said to Joshua, "Make flint knives for yourself, and circumcise the sons of Israel again the second time."
|
|
|
|
그때에 여호와께서 여호수아에게 이르시되 너는 부싯돌로 칼을 만들어 이스라엘 자손들에게 다시 할례를 행하라 하시매
|

|

여호수아가 예리한 칼을 만들어 포피 산에서 이스라엘 자손에게 할례를 행하니라.

|
So Joshua made flint knives for himself, and circumcised the sons of Israel at the hill of the foreskins.
|
|
|
|
여호수아가 부싯돌로 칼을 만들어 할례산에서 이스라엘 자손들에게 할례를 행하니라

여호수아가 할례를 행한 까닭은 이러하니라. 이집트에서 나온 온 백성 중에서 남자들 곧 모든 군사는 이집트에서 나온 뒤 광야에서 길에서 죽었으며

|
And this is the reason why Joshua circumcised them: All the people who came out of Egypt who were males, all the men of war, had died in the wilderness on the way, after they had come out of Egypt.
|
|
|
|
여호수아가 할례를 시행한 까닭은 이것이니 애굽에서 나온 모든 백성 중 남자 곧 모든 군사는 애굽에서 나온 후 광야 노중에서 죽었는데

이제 거기서 나온 온 백성은 할례를 받았으나 그들이 이집트에서 나온 뒤 광야에서 길에서 태어난 온 백성에게는 할례를 행하지 아니하였더라.

For all the people who came out had been circumcised, but all the people born in the wilderness, on the way as they came out of Egypt, had not been circumcised.
|
|
|
|
그 나온 백성은 다 할례를 받았으나 오직 애굽에서 나온 후 광야 노중에서 난 자는 할례를 받지 못하였음이라
|

이집트에서 나온 온 백성 곧 군사들이 {주}의 음성에 순종하지 아니하였으므로 그들이 소멸될 때까지 이스라엘 자손이 광야에서 사십 년 동안 걸었더라. {주}께서 그들에게 그 땅 곧 {주}께서 그들의 조상들에게 맹세하여 친히 우리에게 주리라고 하신 땅 즉 젖과 꿀이 흐르는 땅을 친히 그들에게 보여 주지 아니하리라고 맹세하셨더라.

For the children of Israel walked forty years in the wilderness, till all the people who were men of war, who came out of Egypt, were consumed, because they did not obey the voice of the LORD--to whom the LORD swore that He would not show them the land which the LORD had sworn to their fathers that He would give us, "a land flowing with milk and honey."

|
|
이스라엘 자손들이 여호와의 말씀을 청종치 아니하므로 여호와께서 그들에게 대하여 맹세하사 그들의 열조에게 맹세하여 우리에게 주마 하신 땅 곧 젖과 꿀이 흐르는 땅을 그들로 보지 못하게 하리라 하시매 애굽에서 나온 족속 곧 군사들이 다 멸절하기까지 사십 년 동안을 광야에 행하였더니

그분께서 그들을 대신하여 일으킨 그들의 자손들에게 여호수아가 할례를 행하였으니 그들이 길에서 그 자손들에게 할례를 행하지 아니하였으므로 그들이 할례를 받지 아니하였더라.

Then Joshua circumcised their sons whom He raised up in their place; for they were uncircumcised, because they had not been circumcised on the way.
|
|
|
|
그들의 대를 잇게 하신 이 자손에게 여호수아가 할례를 행하였으니 길에서는 그들에게 할례를 행치 못하였으므로 할례 없는 자가 되었음이었더라
|
|
|

|
그들이 온 백성에게 할례를 행한 뒤에 그들이 온전하게 될 때까지 진영에 있는 자기들의 처소에 거하니라.

|
So it was, when they had finished circumcising all the people, that they stayed in their places in the camp till they were healed.
|
|
|
|
온 백성에게 할례 행하기를 필하매 백성이 진중 각 처소에 처하여 낫기를 기다릴 때에

{주}께서 여호수아에게 이르시되, 이 날 내가 너희에게서 이집트의 수치를 떼 내어 굴러가게 하였노라, 하셨으므로 그곳의 이름을 이 날까지 길갈이라 하니라.

Then the LORD said to Joshua, "This day I have rolled away the reproach of Egypt from you." Therefore the name of the place is called Gilgal to this day.
|
|
|
|
여호와께서 여호수아에게 이르시되 내가 오늘날 애굽의 수치를 너희에게서 굴러가게 하였다 하셨으므로 그 곳 이름을 오늘까지 길갈이라 하느니라
|

|

¶ 이스라엘 자손이 길갈에 진을 쳤고 그 달 십사일 저녁에 여리고 평야에서 유월절을 지켰으며

|
Now the children of Israel camped in Gilgal, and kept the Passover on the fourteenth day of the month at twilight on the plains of Jericho.
|
|
|
|
이스라엘 자손들이 길갈에 진 쳤고 그 달 십사일 저녁에는 여리고 평지에서 유월절을 지켰고
|
|
|

|
유월절 다음 날에 그 땅의 묵은 곡식을 먹되 바로 그 날에 누룩 없는 납작한 빵과 볶은 곡식을 먹었더라.
|

|
And they ate of the produce of the land on the day after the Passover, unleavened bread and parched grain, on the very same day.
|
|
|
|
유월절 이튿날에 그 땅 소산을 먹되 그 날에 무교병과 볶은 곡식을 먹었더니
|
|
|

¶ 그들이 그 땅의 묵은 곡식을 먹은 다음 날에 만나가 그치므로 이스라엘 자손이 더 이상 만나를 얻지 못하였으나 그 해에 가나안 땅의 열매를 먹었더라.

Then the manna ceased on the day after they had eaten the produce of the land; and the children of Israel no longer had manna, but they ate the food of the land of Canaan that year.
|
|
|
|
그 땅 소산을 먹은 다음 날에 만나가 그쳤으니 이스라엘 사람들이 다시는 만나를 얻지 못하였고 그 해에 가나안 땅의 열매를 먹었더라
|
|
|

¶ 여호수아가 여리고 옆에 왔을 때에 눈을 들어 보니, 보라, 한 남자가 칼을 빼어 손에 들고 마주 섰으므로 여호수아가 그에게 가서 그에게 이르되, 너는 우리 편이냐? 우리 대적들의 편이냐? 하매

And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted his eyes and looked, and behold, a Man stood opposite him with His sword drawn in His hand. And Joshua went to Him and said to Him, "Are You for us or for our adversaries?"

|
|
여호수아가 여리고에 가까웠을 때에 눈을 들어 본즉 한 사람이 칼을 빼어 손에 들고 마주 섰는지라 여호수아가 나아가서 그에게 묻되 너는 우리를 위하느냐 우리의 대적을 위하느냐

|
|

|
그가 이르되, 아니라. 나는 지금 {주}의 군대의 대장으로 왔느니라, 하니 여호수아가 얼굴을 땅에 대고 경배하며 그에게 이르되, 내 주께서 자신의 종에게 무슨 말씀을 하려 하시나이까? 하매

So He said, "No, but as Commander of the army of the LORD I have now come." And Joshua fell on his face to the earth and worshiped, and said to Him, "What does my Lord say to His servant?"

|
|
그가 가로되 아니라 나는 여호와의 군대 장관으로 이제 왔느니라 여호수아가 땅에 엎드려 절하고 가로되 나의 주여 종에게 무슨 말씀을 하려 하시나이까
|
|
|

|
{주}의 군대의 대장이 여호수아에게 이르되, 네가 선 곳은 거룩하니 네 발에서 신을 벗으라, 하매 여호수아가 그대로 행하니라.
|

|
Then the Commander of the LORD'S army said to Joshua, "Take your sandal off your foot, for the place where you stand is holy." And Joshua did so.
|
|
|
|
여호와의 군대 장관이 여호수아에게 이르되 네 발에서 신을 벗으라 네가 선 곳은 거룩하니라 여호수아가 그대로 행하니라
