장 
1 그때에 이스라엘의 모든 자손이 나가고 그 회중이 단에서부터 브엘세바에 이르기까지 길르앗 땅과 더불어 한 사람같이 미스바에서 {주}께로 함께 모이니라. 0
So all the children of Israel came out, from Dan to Beersheba, as well as from the land of Gilead, and the congregation gathered together as one man before the LORD at Mizpah.
이에 모든 이스라엘 자손이 단에서부터 브엘세바까지와 길르앗 땅에서 나왔는데 그 회중이 일제히 미스바에서 여호와 앞에 모였으니
2 온 백성의 우두머리들 곧 이스라엘의 모든 지파의 우두머리들이 [하나님]의 백성의 집회에서 자기들을 보이니 칼을 뺀 보병이 사십만 명이더라. 0
And the leaders of all the people, all the tribes of Israel, presented themselves in the assembly of the people of God, four hundred thousand foot soldiers who drew the sword.
온 백성의 어른 곧 이스라엘 모든 지파의 어른들은 하나님 백성의 총회에 섰고 칼을 빼는 보병은 사십만이었으며
3 (이제 이스라엘 자손이 미스바로 올라간 것을 베냐민 자손이 들었더라.) 이에 이스라엘 자손이 이르되, 이런 사악한 일이 어떻게 일어났는지 우리에게 고하라, 하매 0
(Now the children of Benjamin heard that the children of Israel had gone up to Mizpah.) Then the children of Israel said, "Tell us, how did this wicked deed happen?"
이스라엘 자손의 미스바에 올라간 것을 베냐민 자손이 들었더라 이스라엘 자손이 가로되 이 악한 일의 정형을 우리에게 고하라
4 레위 사람 곧 죽임 당한 여자의 남편이 응답하여 이르되, 내가 내 첩과 함께 베냐민에 속한 기브아에 머무르려고 갔는데 0
So the Levite, the husband of the woman who was murdered, answered and said, "My concubine and I went into Gibeah, which belongs to Benjamin, to spend the night.
레위 사람 곧 죽임을 당한 여인의 남편이 대답하여 가로되 내가 내 첩으로 더불어 베냐민에 속한 기브아에 유숙하러 갔더니
5 기브아 사람들이 나를 대적하려고 일어나 밤에 내가 거한 집을 에워싸고 나를 죽이려고 생각하며 내 첩을 강제로 취하여 그녀를 죽였으므로 0
"And the men of Gibeah rose against me, and surrounded the house at night because of me. They intended to kill me, but instead they ravished my concubine so that she died.
기브아 사람들이 나를 치러 일어나서 밤에 나의 우거한 집을 에워싸고 나를 죽이려 하고 내 첩을 욕보여서 그로 죽게 한지라
6 내가 내 첩을 취한 뒤에 그녀의 몸을 여러 조각으로 잘라 이스라엘이 상속한 온 지역에 두루 보내었으니 이는 그들이 이스라엘 안에서 음탕한 짓과 어리석은 짓을 행하였기 때문이라. 0
"So I took hold of my concubine, cut her in pieces, and sent her throughout all the territory of the inheritance of Israel, because they committed lewdness and outrage in Israel.
내가 내 첩의 시체를 취하여 쪼개어 이스라엘 기업의 온 땅에 보내었노니 이는 그들이 이스라엘 중에서 음행과 망령된 일을 행하였음을 인함이로라
7 보라, 너희는 다 이스라엘 자손인즉 여기에서 너희의 권고와 조언을 낼지니라, 하니라. 0
"Look! All of you are children of Israel; give your advice and counsel here and now!"
이스라엘 자손들아 너희가 다 여기 있은즉 너희의 의견과 방책을 낼지니라
8 ¶ 온 백성이 한 사람같이 일어나서 이르되, 우리 중의 아무도 자기 장막으로 돌아가지 아니하고 아무도 자기 집으로 들어가지 아니하리라. 0
So all the people arose as one man, saying, "None of us will go to his tent, nor will any turn back to his house;
모든 백성이 일제히 일어나며 가로되 우리가 하나라도 자기 장막으로 돌아가지 아니하며 하나라도 자기 집으로 들어가지 아니하고
9 오직 이제 우리가 기브아에게 행할 일이 이것이니 곧 우리가 제비뽑아 기브아를 치러 올라가되 0
"but now this is the thing which we will do to Gibeah: We will go up against it by lot.
우리가 기브아 사람에게 이렇게 행하리니 곧 제비 뽑아서 그들을 치되
10 우리가 두루 이스라엘의 모든 지파 중에서 백 명에 열 명, 천 명에 백 명, 만 명에 천 명을 취하고 그 백성을 위해 양식을 가져다가 그들이 베냐민의 기브아로 가서 저들이 이스라엘 안에서 행한 모든 어리석은 일대로 행하게 하리라, 하니라. 0
"We will take ten men out of every hundred throughout all the tribes of Israel, a hundred out of every thousand, and a thousand out of every ten thousand, to make provisions for the people, that when they come to Gibeah in Benjamin, they may repay all the vileness that they have done in Israel."
우리가 이스라엘 모든 지파 중에서 백에 열, 천에 백, 만에 천을 취하고 그 백성을 위하여 양식을 예비하고 그들로 베냐민의 기브아에 가서 그 무리의 이스라엘 중에서 망령된 일을 행한 대로 징계하게 하리라 하니라
11 이와 같이 이스라엘의 모든 사람들이 한 사람같이 연합하여 그 도시를 치려고 함께 모였더라. 0
So all the men of Israel were gathered against the city, united together as one man.
이와 같이 이스라엘 모든 사람이 하나 같이 합심하여 그 성읍을 치려고 모였더라
12 ¶ 이스라엘 지파들이 베냐민 온 지파에게 두루 사람들을 보내어 이르기를, 너희 가운데서 이루어진 이 사악한 일이 도대체 무엇이냐? 0
Then the tribes of Israel sent men through all the tribe of Benjamin, saying, "What is this wickedness that has occurred among you?
이스라엘 지파들이 베냐민 온 지파에 사람들을 보내어 두루 행하며 이르기를 너희 중에서 생긴 이 악이 어찜이뇨
13 그런즉 이제 기브아에 있는 자들 곧 벨리알의 자손들을 우리에게 넘겨주어 우리가 그들을 죽여서 이스라엘에서 악을 제거하게 하라, 하였으나 베냐민 자손이 자기 형제 이스라엘 자손의 음성에 귀를 기울이려 하지 아니하고 0
"Now therefore, deliver up the men, the perverted men who are in Gibeah, that we may put them to death and remove the evil from Israel!" But the children of Benjamin would not listen to the voice of their brethren, the children of Israel.
그런즉 이제 기브아 사람 곧 그 비류를 우리에게 붙여서 우리로 죽여 이스라엘 중에 악을 제하여 버리게 하라 하나 베냐민 자손이 그 형제 이스라엘 자손의 말을 듣지 아니하고
14 도리어 베냐민 자손이 도시들에서 나와 기브아에 함께 모여 나가서 이스라엘 자손과 싸우려 하더라. 0
Instead, the children of Benjamin gathered together from their cities to Gibeah, to go to battle against the children of Israel.
도리어 각 성읍에서 기브아에 모이고 나가서 이스라엘 자손과 싸우고자 하니
15 그때에 도시들에서 나온 베냐민 자손의 수는 칼을 뺀 자가 이만 육천 명이요, 그 외에 기브아 거주민들 중에서 택하여 계수된 자가 칠백 명이더라. 0
And from their cities at that time the children of Benjamin numbered twenty-six thousand men who drew the sword, besides the inhabitants of Gibeah, who numbered seven hundred select men.
그 때에 성읍들에서 나온 베냐민 자손의 수는 칼을 빼는 자가 모두 이만 육천이요 그 외에 기브아 거민 중 택한 자가 칠백인데
16 이 온 백성 가운데는 선정된 왼손잡이 칠백 명이 있었는데 그들은 각각 무릿매로 돌을 던져 머리털만큼도 빗나가지 아니하게 하는 자들이더라. 0
Among all this people were seven hundred select men who were left-handed; every one could sling a stone at a hair's breadth and not miss.
이 모든 백성 중에서 택한 칠백 명은 다 왼손잡이라 물매로 돌을 던지면 호리도 틀림이 없는 자더라
17 베냐민 외에 칼을 뺀 이스라엘 사람의 수는 사십만 명이었는데 이들은 다 전사들이더라. 0
Now besides Benjamin, the men of Israel numbered four hundred thousand men who drew the sword; all of these were men of war.
베냐민 자손 외에 이스라엘 사람의 칼을 빼는 자의 수는 사십만 명이니 다 전사라
18 ¶ 이스라엘 자손이 일어나서 [하나님]의 집에 올라가 [하나님]께 조언을 구하여 이르되, 우리 중에 누가 먼저 올라가 베냐민 자손과 싸우리이까? 하니 {주}께서 이르시되, 유다가 먼저 올라갈지니라, 하시니라. 0
Then the children of Israel arose and went up to the house of God to inquire of God. They said, "Which of us shall go up first to battle against the children of Benjamin?" The LORD said, "Judah first!"
이스라엘 자손이 일어나 벧엘에 올라가서 하나님께 묻자와 가로되 우리 중에 누가 먼저 올라가서 베냐민 자손과 싸우리이까 여호와께서 가라사대 유다가 먼저 일지니라
19 이스라엘 자손이 아침에 일어나서 기브아를 마주보고 진을 치니라. 0
So the children of Israel rose in the morning and encamped against Gibeah.
이스라엘 자손이 아침에 일어나 기브아를 대하여 진을 치니라
20 이스라엘 사람들이 베냐민과 싸우려고 나가며 이스라엘 사람들이 기브아에서 그들과 싸우려고 전열을 갖추매 0
And the men of Israel went out to battle against Benjamin, and the men of Israel put themselves in battle array to fight against them at Gibeah.
이스라엘 사람들이 나가서 항오를 벌이고 거기서 그들과 싸우고자 하매
21 베냐민 자손이 기브아에서 나와 그 날에 이스라엘 사람 이만 이천 명을 멸하여 땅에 쓰러뜨렸으나 0
Then the children of Benjamin came out of Gibeah, and on that day cut down to the ground twenty-two thousand men of the Israelites.
베냐민 자손이 기브아에서 나와서 당일에 이스라엘 사람 이만 이천을 땅에 엎드러뜨렸으나
22 그 백성 곧 이스라엘 사람들이 스스로 용기를 내어 자기들이 첫째 날 전열을 갖춘 곳에서 다시 전투대형을 갖추니라. 0
And the people, that is, the men of Israel, encouraged themselves and again formed the battle line at the place where they had put themselves in array on the first day.
이스라엘 사람들이 스스로 용기를 내어 첫날 항오를 벌였던 곳에 다시 항오를 벌이니라
23 (이스라엘 자손이 올라가 {주} 앞에서 저녁때까지 울며 {주}께 조언을 구하여 이르되, 내가 다시 올라가서 내 형제 베냐민 자손과 싸우리이까? 하니 {주}께서 이르시되, 올라가서 그를 치라, 하시니라.) 0
Then the children of Israel went up and wept before the LORD until evening, and asked counsel of the LORD, saying, "Shall I again draw near for battle against the children of my brother Benjamin?" And the LORD said, "Go up against him."
이스라엘 자손이 올라가서 여호와 앞에서 저물도록 울며 여호와께 묻자와 가로되 내가 다시 나아가서 나의 형제 베냐민 자손과 싸우리이까 여호와께서 가라사대 올라가서 치라 하시니라
24 둘째 날에 이스라엘 자손이 베냐민 자손을 치러 가까이 갔더니 0
So the children of Israel approached the children of Benjamin on the second day.
그 이튿날에 이스라엘 자손이 베냐민 자손을 치러 나아가매
25 베냐민도 둘째 날에 그들을 치려고 기브아에서 나와 또 다시 이스라엘 자손 만 팔천 명을 멸하여 땅에 쓰러뜨렸는데 이들은 다 칼을 빼는 자들이더라. 0
And Benjamin went out against them from Gibeah on the second day, and cut down to the ground eighteen thousand more of the children of Israel; all these drew the sword.
베냐민도 그 이튿날에 기브아에서 그들을 치러 나와서 다시 이스라엘 자손 일만 팔천을 땅에 엎드러뜨렸으니 다 칼을 빼는 자였더라
26 ¶ 그때에 이스라엘의 모든 자손 곧 온 백성이 올라가서 [하나님]의 집에 이르러 울며 거기서 {주} 앞에 앉아 그 날 저녁때까지 금식하고 번제 헌물과 화평 헌물을 {주} 앞에 드리며 0
Then all the children of Israel, that is, all the people, went up and came to the house of God and wept. They sat there before the LORD and fasted that day until evening; and they offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the LORD.
이에 온 이스라엘 자손 모든 백성이 올라가서 벧엘에 이르러 울며 거기서 여호와 앞에 앉고 그 날이 저물도록 금식하고 번제와 화목제를 여호와 앞에 드리고
27 이스라엘 자손이 {주}께 여쭈었으니 (그 당시에 [하나님]의 언약 궤가 거기 있었고 0
So the children of Israel inquired of the LORD (the ark of the covenant of God was there in those days,
여호와께 물으니라 (그 때에는 하나님의 언약궤가 거기 있고
28 또 그 당시에 아론의 손자요, 엘르아살의 아들인 비느하스가 그 궤 앞에 서 있었더라.) 그들이 이르되, 내가 여전히 다시 나가서 내 형제 베냐민 자손과 싸우리이까 혹은 그만두리이까? 하니 {주}께서 이르시되, 올라가라. 내일 내가 그들을 네 손에 넘겨주리라, 하시므로 0
and Phinehas the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron, stood before it in those days), saying, "Shall I yet again go out to battle against the children of my brother Benjamin, or shall I cease?" And the LORD said, "Go up, for tomorrow I will deliver them into your hand."
아론의 손자 엘르아살의 아들 비느하스가 그 앞에 모셨더라) 이스라엘 자손이 묻자오되 내가 다시 나가 나의 형제 베냐민 자손과 싸우리이까 말리이까 여호와께서 가라사대 올라가라 내일은 내가 그를 네 손에 붙이리라
29 이스라엘이 기브아 사방에 복병들을 두니라. 1
Then Israel set men in ambush all around Gibeah.
이스라엘이 기브아 사면에 군사를 매복하니라
30 이스라엘 자손이 셋째 날에 베냐민 자손을 치러 올라가서 다른 때와 같이 기브아를 마주보며 전열을 갖추니 0
And the children of Israel went up against the children of Benjamin on the third day, and put themselves in battle array against Gibeah as at the other times.
이스라엘 자손이 제삼일에 베냐민 자손에게로 치러 올라가서 전과 같이 기브아를 대하여 항오를 벌이매
31 베냐민 자손이 백성을 치려고 나오다가 유인을 받아 그 도시에서 떠났더라. 그들이 큰길 곧 한편은 [하나님]의 집으로 올라가는 길이요, 다른 한편은 들에서 기브아로 가는 길에서 다른 때와 같이 백성을 쳐서 이스라엘 사람 삼십 명가량을 죽이기 시작하였더라. 0
So the children of Benjamin went out against the people, and were drawn away from the city. They began to strike down and kill some of the people, as at the other times, in the highways (one of which goes up to Bethel and the other to Gibeah) and in the field, about thirty men of Israel.
베냐민 자손이 나와서 백성을 맞더니 꾀임에 빠져 성읍을 떠났더라 그들이 큰 길 곧 한편은 벧엘로 올라가는 길이요 한편은 기브아의 들로 가는 길에서 백성을 쳐서 전과 같이 이스라엘 사람 삼십 명 가량을 죽이기 시작하며
32 베냐민 자손이 이르기를, 그들이 처음과 같이 우리 앞에서 패하였다, 하였으나 이스라엘 자손은 이르기를, 우리가 도망하여 그들을 그 도시로부터 큰길로 유인하자, 하니라. 0
And the children of Benjamin said, "They are defeated before us, as at first." But the children of Israel said, "Let us flee and draw them away from the city to the highways."
스스로 이르기를 이들이 처음과 같이 우리 앞에서 패한다 하나 이스라엘 자손은 이르기를 우리가 도망하여 그들을 성읍에서 큰 길로 꾀어내자 하고
33 이스라엘의 모든 사람은 자기 처소에서 일어나 바알다말에서 전열을 갖추었고 이스라엘의 복병들은 자기들의 처소 곧 기브아의 초원에서 나왔더라. 0
So all the men of Israel rose from their place and put themselves in battle array at Baal Tamar. Then Israel's men in ambush burst forth from their position in the plain of Geba.
이스라엘 사람이 모두 그 처소에서 일어나서 바알다말에 항오를 별였고 그 복병은 그 처소 곧 기브아 초장에서 쏟아져 나왔더라
34 온 이스라엘에서 택한 사람 만 명이 기브아를 치려고 나왔고 싸움이 심히 맹렬하였으나 그들은 자기들에게 화가 가까이 이른 줄을 알지 못하였더라. 0
And ten thousand select men from all Israel came against Gibeah, and the battle was fierce. But the Benjamites did not know that disaster was upon them.
온 이스라엘 사람 중에서 택한 사람 일만이 기브아에 이르러 치매 싸움이 심히 맹렬하나 베냐민 사람은 화가 자기에게 미친줄을 알지 못하였더라
35 {주}께서 이스라엘 앞에서 베냐민을 치시매 그 날에 이스라엘 자손이 베냐민 족속 중에서 이만 오천백 명을 멸하였는데 이들은 다 칼을 빼는 자들이더라. 0
The LORD defeated Benjamin before Israel. And the children of Israel destroyed that day twenty-five thousand one hundred Benjamites; all these drew the sword.
여호와께서 이스라엘 앞에서 베냐민을 쳐서 파하게 하시매 당일에 이스라엘 자손이 베냐민 사람 이만 오천일백을 죽였으니 다 칼을 빼는 자이었더라
36 이에 베냐민 자손이 자기들이 패한 것을 깨달았으니 이스라엘 사람들이 자기들이 기브아 옆에 둔 복병들을 믿고 베냐민 족속에게 자리를 내주매 0
So the children of Benjamin saw that they were defeated. The men of Israel had given ground to the Benjamites, because they relied on the men in ambush whom they had set against Gibeah.
이에 베냐민 자손이 자기가 패한 것을 깨달았으니 이는 이스라엘 사람이 기브아에 매복한 군사를 믿고 잠간 베냐민 사람 앞을 피하매
37 복병들이 급히 나와 기브아로 돌격하고 나아가면서 칼날로 온 도시를 쳤더라. 0
And the men in ambush quickly rushed upon Gibeah; the men in ambush spread out and struck the whole city with the edge of the sword.
복병이 급히 나와 기브아에 돌입하고 나아가며 칼날로 온 성읍을 쳤음이더라
38 이제 이스라엘 사람들과 복병들 사이에 약정한 표적이 있었는데 그것은 곧 그들이 그 도시에서 연기와 함께 큰 불꽃이 치솟게 하자는 것이더라. 0
Now the appointed signal between the men of Israel and the men in ambush was that they would make a great cloud of smoke rise up from the city,
처음에 이스라엘 사람과 복병 사이에 상약하기를 성읍에서 큰 연기가 치미는 것으로 군호를 삼자 하고
39 이스라엘 사람들은 싸움에서 물러가고 베냐민은 이스라엘 사람들 중에서 삼십 명가량을 쳐서 죽이기 시작하였으니 이는 그들이 이르기를, 분명히 그들이 처음 싸움에서처럼 우리 앞에서 패하였다, 하였기 때문이더라. 0
whereupon the men of Israel would turn in battle. Now Benjamin had begun to strike and kill about thirty of the men of Israel. For they said, "Surely they are defeated before us, as in the first battle."
이스라엘 사람은 싸우다가 물러가고 베냐민 사람은 이스라엘 사람 삼십 명 가량을 쳐 죽이기를 시작하며 이르기를 이들이 정녕 처음 싸움 같이 우리에게 패한다 하다가
40 그러나 불꽃이 연기 기둥과 함께 그 도시에서 일어나기 시작할 때에 베냐민 족속이 자기들의 뒤를 바라보매, 보라, 도시의 불꽃이 하늘에까지 올라갔더라. 0
But when the cloud began to rise from the city in a column of smoke, the Benjamites looked behind them, and there was the whole city going up in smoke to heaven.
연기 구름이 기둥 같이 성읍 가운데서 일어날 때에 베냐민 사람이 돌아보매 온 성읍에 연기가 하늘에 닿았고
41 또 이스라엘 사람들이 다시 돌아설 때에 베냐민 사람들이 화가 자기들에게 임한 것을 보았으므로 놀라니라. 0
And when the men of Israel turned back, the men of Benjamin panicked, for they saw that disaster had come upon them.
이스라엘 사람은 돌이키는지라 베냐민 사람이 화가 자기에게 미친 것을 보고 심히 놀라
42 그러므로 그들이 이스라엘 사람들 앞에서 등을 돌려 광야 길로 향하였으나 그들에게 싸움이 닥칠 때에 이스라엘 사람들이 도시들에서 나온 자들을 그 도시들 한가운데서 멸하니라. 0
Therefore they turned their backs before the men of Israel in the direction of the wilderness; but the battle overtook them, and whoever came out of the cities they destroyed in their midst.
이스라엘 사람 앞에서 몸을 돌이켜 광야 길로 향하였으나 군사가 급히 추격하며 각 성읍에서 나온 자를 그 가운데서 진멸하니라
43 이와 같이 그들이 베냐민 족속을 에워싸고 추격하여 해 뜨는 쪽의 기브아 맞은편에서 그들을 쉽사리 짓밟으매 0
They surrounded the Benjamites, chased them, and easily trampled them down as far as the front of Gibeah toward the east.
그들이 베냐민 사람을 에워쌌더니 기브아 앞 동편까지 쫓으며 그 쉬는 곳에서 짓밟으매
44 베냐민 중에서 쓰러진 자가 만 팔천 명이었더라. 이들은 다 용사들이더라. 0
And eighteen thousand men of Benjamin fell; all these were men of valor.
베냐민 중에서 엎드러진 자가 일만 팔천이니 다 용사더라
45 그들이 돌아서서 광야로 도망하여 림몬 반석에 이르렀는데 이스라엘 사람들이 큰길에서 또 그들 중에서 오천 명을 이삭 줍듯 하고 맹렬히 그들을 추격하여 기돔에 이르러 또 그들 중에서 이천 명을 죽이니라. 0
Then they turned and fled toward the wilderness to the rock of Rimmon; and they cut down five thousand of them on the highways. Then they pursued them relentlessly up to Gidom, and killed two thousand of them.
그들이 몸을 돌이켜 광야로 도망하여 림몬 바위에 이르는 큰 길에서 이스라엘이 또 오천 명을 이삭 줍듯 하고 또 급히 따라 기돔에 이르러 또 이천 명을 죽였으니
46 이로써 그 날에 베냐민 중에서 쓰러진 모든 자는 칼을 뺀 이만 오천 명이었는데 이들은 다 용사들이더라. 0
So all who fell of Benjamin that day were twenty-five thousand men who drew the sword; all these were men of valor.
이 날에 베냐민의 칼을 빼는 자의 엎드러진 것이 모두 이만 오천이니 다 용사더라
47 그러나 육백 명은 돌아서서 광야로 도망하여 림몬 반석에 이르러 림몬 반석에서 넉 달을 지내었더라. 0
But six hundred men turned and fled toward the wilderness to the rock of Rimmon, and they stayed at the rock of Rimmon for four months.
베냐민 육백 명이 돌이켜 광야로 도망하여 림몬 바위에 이르러 거기서 넉 달을 지내었더라
48 이스라엘 사람들이 다시 베냐민 자손에게로 돌아와 그들을 칼날로 치되 모든 도시의 사람들과 짐승과 손에 닥치는 모든 것을 칼날로 치고 또 자기들이 다다른 모든 도시를 불살랐더라. 0
And the men of Israel turned back against the children of Benjamin, and struck them down with the edge of the sword--from every city, men and beasts, all who were found. They also set fire to all the cities they came to.
이스라엘 사람이 베냐민 자손에게로 돌아와서 온 성읍과 가축과 만나는 자를 다 칼날로 치고 닥치는 성읍마다 다 불살랐더라
